This structure is designed to prevent a publication title or a statistically positive result from being presented as if it automatically applied to an individual patient.
Preferred evidence hierarchy
Current professional guidelines and regulatory information are considered together with randomised trials, systematic evidence, prospective studies and other relevant peer-reviewed data. The appropriate evidence level depends on the clinical question and tumour entity.
Experimental approaches are labelled as such and are assessed by the same evidence standards as conventional treatment options.
Clinical trials
Potentially relevant trials may be surfaced when the available case information suggests a possible match. A report does not claim eligibility: centre, recruitment status, inclusion/exclusion criteria and current availability must be checked directly.
